What it does
Teaches Claude your team's branching conventions:
- Branch pattern:
feature/,fix/,chore/,docs/,refactor/,test/+ kebab-case - PR target: < 400 lines, with strategies for splitting larger changes
- Protected branches: no direct commits to
main
The rule file acts as a router — before git operations, Claude checks which git skills are installed and reads them.
Setup
Run harness-kit add branch-strategy
- Copies branch-strategy skill to
.agents/skills/ - Copies git-workflow rule to
.claude/rules/
